Are you someone who really needs to do stuff right?? Getting it right is excellent but not if it is at the expense of actually getting something done. It can be really difficult especially when you compare yourself to others in the same industry who seem to be doing amazingly well but you won’t get there unless you actually put pen to paper, fingers to keyboard or face to camera and just do it!
What made me think of writing this post was an experience I had today. I am working at getting content on this website on a regular basis after putting it off forever. I have made a commitment to myself to get all the info and knowledge out of my head and onto this site so that others can get value and also in a way show my clients what I’m able to help them with. I’ve been busy helping clients and other people and had really neglected to knuckle down and do what I need to do. Don’t get me wrong I have some excellent amazing excuses that I could throw at you but the fact of the matter is that I still need to just do it.
Back to the story of my experience ………. I was trying to create a video for my contact page which you can watch here and take after take after take, I kept tripping over my tongue and mucking it up. In the end I decided to embrace mucking it up and just getting a video done, complete, uploaded and on my website. I may or may not go back and change it later but I actually accomplished what I set out to do AND create a lesson out of it. If you want to market your business in a way that others can connect with, being yourself and being authentic is a great way to do it. If I kept working at trying to get my message perfect it would have taken me much longer and eaten into more of my time, time I can be spending creating more marketing content for my business.
