As I was cruising around Google+ I came across a really cool tutorial that I used and implemented to import all of my Facebook contacts straight into my Google+ account. When creating a strategy for marketing your business online it’s important to look at where your customers are and which platforms will be best for your business. We don’t need to be everywhere, we need to be where our customers and prospects are, however Google+ is one platform that we can ALL be on and is very easy to manage and share information to and from.
Because Google+ is owned by Google it makes sense that it is worthwhile being there and it is another way of connecting with your audience. I’ve noticed more and more people using it and discussing the benefits of being there for business. Setting up a Google Page for your business is a great way to share information about your business and can only be done after creating your profile on Google+. More on the benefits of being on Google+ in another post to come.
When we add our businesses to new platforms we want to gather contacts and followers as easily and quickly as possible and a way to do that is by connecting with people you already know on other platforms. Before now it was pretty much impossible to import your contacts from Facebook (which is a bit of a bugger given that we have all spent a lot of time building followings and contacts there). I have followed this tutorial step by step and within a very short space of time was able to transfer all my Facebook contacts, who had email addresses, to my Google+ account and follow each of them.
You can get the tutorial HERE! Let me know if you use this method of following your Facebook friends on Google+ and whether you found it as easy to do as I did. If you need a hand, yell out (through the contact page here)!
